If you have registered for Reliance Jio GigaFiber, you will have to wait for at least three months. People are waiting for GigaFiber to see when it will be installed in their home or office because they expect it will start its installation soon. Due to this, sources of the company have said that no date has been fixed to give connection to GigaFiber on each registration.

The company is now surveying customers registering whether they really want GigaFiber services or not. According to sources, the company will provide the facility of TV connections, broadband and landline phones to people in the same package.

Reliance Jio is currently registering people for GigaFiber and his friends and relatives besides establishing a connection in society, RWA etc. From this, they are finding out how eager people are to take his new service in the area. If you think that by registering only you will become a potential customer of GigaFiber, it is not so. It may also be that the company does not ask for a further connection. Because they are only accepting this registration as a survey, which has nothing to do with taking the connection.

People will be able to see more than 600 channels in HD quality from the phone's wire. To see these channels, you can be picked up by joining the set-top box provided by Reliance. You will also have to spend money to get this Giga TV, but that money will be recovered on the connection. Along with this, every new connection holder will also be given several facilities for the company for three months.

That's why the expenditure to be spent will be taken first to those who take connections of Reliance Jio GigaFiiber and Giga TVs, a router and set-top box. As a security, the company will have to pay Rs 4500, which will be refunded later.

For three months, you will get 100 Mbps speed for 90 days all free of charge, which will be able to spend up to 100 GB per month. Its installation is free but will have to pay security money of Rs 4,500, which will be refunded later.

Here’s why this Steve Jobs-made Apple computer could sell for Rs 2.1 crore

August 27, 2018

NEW DELHI: In the case of technology and gadgets, usually people are willing to pay a premium for something that boasts of top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art modern day tech. However, this one may just be an exception.

An original and rare Apple computer will soon be up for auction and is expected to fetch a handsome price. Some are even guessing it might sell for as high as $300,000 or close to Rs 2.1 crore. That’s as expensive as some of the high-end cars and certainly more than anything today’s generation of computers might cost. But why does it cost so much?

For starters, it is one of the first series of computers that was built by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak and were called Apple-1 computers. According to CNET, Jobs and Wozniak built around 200 of these “Byte Shop style Apple-1 model”. It gets the name Byte Shop as it was specially made for California-based Byte Shop, one of the first personal computer stores in the world.

According to RR Auctions, the site where the Apple-1 is up for grabs, “This Apple-1 computer was restored to its original, operational state in June 2018 by Apple-1 expert Corey Cohen, and a video of it running and functioning is available upon request. A comprehensive, technical condition report prepared by Cohen is available to qualified bidders; he evaluates the current condition of the unit as 8.5/10.” So, one will get a fully functional – though how useful will it remain to be seen.

The auction house further revealed that “The most remarkable aspect of this Apple-1 computer is that it is documented to be fully operational: the system was operated without fault for approximately eight hours in a comprehensive test.”

One of the interesting thing that this old Apple computer reveals is that even back then the company had one of the most powerful machines in the world. While it may not be of any functional value today, it surely is a collector’s edition.

Man detained with 4200 stolen Xiaomi smartphones worth Rs. 87 lakhs

August 27, 2018
In the past, we have come across cases where people have been detained for stealing iPhones and other Apple products from stores and warehouses. Now, in India, a man has been arrested for stealing Xiaomi smartphones worth Rs. 87 lakhs. This incident has happened in New Delhi and the police are investigating the matter.

Theft of Xiaomi smartphones

According to media reports, a man has been detained in Gurugram on the basis of allegations that he stole nearly 4200 units of Xiaomi smartphones from the company's warehouse. From the initial investigation, it is claimed that the overall worth of the stolen Xiaomi phones is around Rs. 87 lakhs. There is no word regarding the exact models those were stolen from the Xiaomi warehouse.

According to a report by The Economic Times, Ramesh from Bihar has been detained for stealing the Xiaomi smartphones. The report states that three of his accomplices helped him break into the company's warehouse in Gurugram in May. The thieves have stolen phones and other appliances such as washing machines and more. However, it has to be noted that Xiaomi hasn't launched any washing machine in the country as yet.

The report further cites Shamsher Singh, ACP of Crime claiming to have recovered almost all the missing units. More details regarding the burglary might be revealed later after a detailed investigation.

Why Xiaomi smartphones?

The popularity of Xiaomi smartphones could be one of the reasons for the theft. Currently, Xiaomi is the topmost smartphone brand in the country alongside Samsung. Both the companies have an equal market share in the Indian smartphone arena. Especially, the Redmi smartphones are quite popular.

Xiaomi smartphones are available starting Rs. 5,999 and go up to Rs. 32,999. These smartphones are quite popular that they end up going out of stock after every flash sale in just a matter of a few seconds. And, the offline availability of these smartphones come at an additional cost of Rs. 500 than the online pricing. Eventually, this could have been a prime reason for the theft of the Xiaomi smartphones. However, further investigation by the police might bring more details to light.

Reliance Jio, the newest operator in the Indian telecom scene, has released a new add-on pack for its prepaid subscribers that gives 2GB of additional daily 4G data over and above the existing Jio pack that the user has subscribed to. Visible in the MyJio app automatically, this add-on pack is currently rolling out for select subscribers, eligibility for which is currently unknown. Also, the Jio digital pack does not come with any additional calling or SMS benefits, which will remain same as the one offered in the existing base pack. A Jio representative confirmed to Gadgets 360 that add-on is valid only until July 31, 2018.

With the Digital Pack active, if a Jio user is availing the Rs. 399 prepaid pack which offers 1.5GB 4G data per day, for 84 days, then they will get a total of 3.5GB 4G data per day. However, considering the validity of the pack is only up to July 31, it is rendered mostly unusable. Comments on a report by Telecom Talk, however, say that the pack will expire on August 2 for some users, not July 31.
Earlier this month, Reliance Jio rolled out its Jio Phone Monsoon Hungama offer as part of which users can exchange their existing features phones and purchase the Jio Phone at a price of just Rs. 501, which is also a fully refundable security deposit. However, six months worth recharge of the custom Rs. 99 prepaid pack is required to avail of this deal. The exchange offer, thus, mandates a payment of Rs. 1,095 (Rs. 501 + Rs. 594) to be able to purchase the Jio Phone. To recall, the new Rs. 99 Jio Phone recharge comes with 0.5GB 4G data per day, unlimited voice calls, and 300 SMS messages, with a validity of 28 days.
